HALLUCINATION- MY PERCEPTION

I still remember myself asking my elder sister about the meaning of “HALLUCINATIONS”, about a year ago. And the answer she gave was that ‘hallucination is what you see with open eyes! it is so vivid and lively that you can’t come out of it and differ it from the reality’.
Now if you hit a search on the internet for the word hallucinations, you’ll get varied results like perception in the absence of a stimulus or perception in a conscious and awake state in the absence of external stimuli which have qualities of real perception, in that they are vivid, substantial, and located in external objective space.
Earlier I had always taken hallucinations and the state of dreaming to be the same but now after all the quests for its meaning it’s very clear that they’re very different. While dreaming you visualize things but in hallucinations you see them when awake!! I’ve always wondered how it might be possible and how it must feel when you actually undergo such a thing. Speaking scientifically it’s a disease but if you see it as an artist then it is a state of infinite creativity. You can create and destroy anything, as and when you want. It’s then your world, free from the reality. Its upto you if you make it a heaven or hell! Hallucination, as I understand, is a way to fulfill which you couldn’t in real life. It can be something you always wanted to achieve or something you dread the most!! It can be anything ranging from something to nothing!! :)
I’m a day dreamer but no hallucinations. So the very thought of it muddles me. It comes to me that in a hallucination may be I can actually see myself in a totally different atmosphere.i can enjoy with my friends at a place like some beautiful waterfall, at my home itself!! That’s got to be wonderful!!
But it’s a disease! On www.wikipedia.org you’ll get various types of hallucinations. It arises from different senses like audio, smell and visual. The article tells you even about the various diseases which result into hallucinations. All scientific details which I don’t want to get into now.
So ill just end it here saying that my perception of hallucination is that of an artist rather as scientific personnel. And it’s a field where I would love to create my dreams and bring them to reality!! :)

“Fear of the Inevitable”

Fear- seeing this topic what came to my mind was fear of the inevitable. We always fear about the future-which is yet to come. With this fear some even give up enjoying their present!! In India particularly we’ve many superstitions gripping us. This increases our vulnerability to fear. Many such reasons come into play when we talk about fear. It is fairly questionable that is it necessary to fear something or is it really worth? Well, it’s not that you should always be free minded, never thinking of the future without realization of what’s going on in your life!! No, not at all!! But doing the extreme is wrong again i.e. to keep battering your mind about what is going to happen with you and around you tomorrow or in the next few moments!! Its rightly said that excess of everything is bad! Don’t ever go for the extreme positions as you’ll surely be the one to suffer. Then what is right! For me best is to be careful of your deeds and oblivious to the future results. That is what our epic ‘Gita’ says – “karma kar fal ki chinta mat kar”. If we do what we think and feel is right then the result will be good. So there’s nothing to fear in that case.
We’ve many fears holding us back- fear of the inevitable, of not doing well (deepinder), of death (anshul), fear of failure, fear of being overruled, fear of being refused by a significant other ? and many more! There are so many fears to talk about. But first what is this fear after all!
Fear is an emotion, a feeling so strong that it has achieved the power of molding our personality and our future! Fearing something is like looking forward to something or someone who is sure to ditch you. You know that you won’t get anywhere with fear yet you fear.
But who made fear so powerful that it comes to you even if you don’t want it to? We ourselves!! No one else came to ask us to fear something. After any exam we all discuss how it went and some go to the extent of discussing it after a few days even. Whether you’ll pass or flunk can’t be changed by thinking about it and fearing the result continuously. We need to understand this.
Why to fear which we can’t change! Everyone dies and we’ll die too so why fear. Yet we fear as life is dear to all. Everyone goes through good and bad times – so why to fear your future and most importantly why to blame it onto someone else because of superstitions. Most of the times I find myself telling my cousin, living in a village, that almost always I wash my hair on Tuesdays and I’m still alive. And what I get back is that once she washed her hair on a Tuesday and fell ill the next day!! It just makes me sick. Our customs and rituals have made us so superstitious that a mere coincidence has sown the seed of elephant grass sized fear. For me if you’re not hurting anyone in doing some task then it’s not wrong. That eliminates fear. Just question your subconscious mind before doing something- it’ll eliminate your fear of the result!!
As said earlier- “the only thing to fear is fear itself!” – but guys why to fear it even. Just go on in your lives without fear and you’re sure to gain success!
